A Romantic Day in Haarzuylen

Some weddings remind you what love truly means — and Eric and Antoinette’s wedding at ’t Wapen van Haarzuylen, just outside Utrecht, was exactly that. Set in a cozy restaurant with an intimate ceremony room upstairs, their day was all about warmth, laughter, and heartfelt moments shared with their closest loved ones.

an intimate Getting Ready with Her Daughter

The morning started softly — filled with laughter, excitement, and quiet anticipation. Antoinette got ready with the help of her daughter, who played such a special role throughout the day. You could truly feel the deep connection between them — not just as mother and daughter, but as best friends sharing one of life’s most emotional mornings together.

Every moment felt natural and full of love — from helping with the dress to sharing a few happy tears before heading out to meet Eric.

A Second Chance at Love

Eric and Antoinette’s story is one of finding love again — proof that true connection can come when you least expect it. From the moment I met them, there was an immediate click. Their calm energy, deep bond, and genuine affection made choosing their special day such a joy.

A Very Dutch Start to the Day

Before heading to the venue, Eric arrived to pick up Antoinette in a "bakfiets" — a classic Dutch cargo bike. It was such a unique and heartwarming moment as they rode together through the charming streets of Haarzuilens, waving to locals and soaking up the sunshine before saying “I do.”

The First Look

One of my favorite parts of the day was their first look. The emotion in that moment — the way they saw each other for the first time, filled with anticipation and love — perfectly set the tone for everything that followed.

The Ceremony Upstairs at ’t Wapen van Haarzuylen

The ceremony took place in a small, intimate room above the restaurant. Surrounded by family and friends, Eric and Antoinette exchanged heartfelt love letters that left everyone in tears. It was a true reflection of their journey — raw, emotional, and deeply personal.

A Family Effort

They didn't have a wedding planner, it was their daughter who took the lead in organizing everything. From our first meeting, I could feel the strong bond this family shared. Working closely with her made the day flow seamlessly, and the atmosphere was filled with love from start to finish.

Why This Wedding Stood Out to Me

As a wedding photographer, I’m lucky to capture many beautiful stories — but this one stayed with me. The way Eric and Antoinette looked at each other, the laughter, the emotional letters… every moment was genuine. It reminded me why I do what I do — to capture love in its purest form.
